Fluor confirms 'long term agreement' status with Aramco

US player qualifies to bid for programme management consultancy contracts
Texas-based Fluor confirnmed on Tuesday that it has made the list of contractors qualified to carry out project management consultancy (PMC) work for Saudi Aramco.
The Saudi giant has Long-Term Agreement (LTA) contractors who are automatically able to participate in large tender processes, without going through costly and lengthy pre-qualification exercises.
Upstream reported in May that Fluor had made the cut.
Fluor said that now it is an LTA contractor it can bid for PMC work on Aramco's global capital projects portfolio.
Commenting on the news, Pierre Bechelany, Fluor’s president of energy solutions, said the award reflects Fluor’s proven record in program management, capital discipline and safe execution, “as well as our deep understanding of Aramco’s project delivery requirements.”
This LTA covers future opportunities for pre-front-end engineering and design, FEED, engineering, project management, procurement oversight, construction management and programme execution services across upstream, downstream, petrochemical and infrastructure developments.
Fluor noted it has worked in Saudi Arabia for more than 80 years.
